i love it - still use it - its perfect (even after 6 mnths & lots of use). great for everyday use and goes with everything.
If it doesn't say it, I don't bother. I love them.
But my previous one died a horrific, yet noble death at the hands of a jealous and violent (and very thick glass) bottle of Cheyenne Pepper. First rule of baking was broken - have all ingredients out before starting.
I bought this bowl in the 4 bowl set, and it was my favoritest bowl in the entire universe. Now, YES, it's sides could be a little higher, especially for the bigger cookie dough recipes. vanilla extract, you could possibly knock this glass shaker from the shelf, and have it hit JUST THE RIGHT PLACE, and have your favorite bowl shatter into a billion pieces. But now I have observed the proper mourning time, I can take off the black clothes and move on with my life.I highly suggest any serious to semi-serious bakers/cooks pick this bowl up - and if it's your first, I suggest you go get the 4 bowl set with rubber lids.
DUH.And then the second rule - don't leave thick glass shakers of spices near the FRONT of the cabinet, when you reach back for the. oh say.
Remember, there is NOTHING quite like Pyrex. :)
We already have the Pyrex three "nesting" set of mixing bowls and wanted to add a larger bowl. The three smaller ones nest inside this one so you can store all four bowls nested together. The quality is such that we usually use it as a serving bowl for the garden or potato salad we mixed in it.It is "Made in USA".
It's a large size, but perfect for most of my mixing needs. Plus, Pyrex will last a lifetime.
I have the 3 piece Pyrex mixing bowl set, but this is the largest one and had to be purchased separately. It is good for marinating large amounts of meat for grilling, huge fruit/salad bowls, Halloween candy bowl, etc.
